No long preparation speeches, no elaborate ceremonies\u2014after John\u2019s arrest, He simply proclaims, \u201cThe kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel.\u201d Then, walking by the sea, He calls four fishermen with two decisive words: \u201cFollow me.\u201d Immediately they leave nets, boat, father, and livelihood. In these first days, Jesus shows us that the Gospel demands prompt response and radical commitment. When the Lord calls, there is no time for delay\u2014only the courage to rise and follow.
