Dear friends, in today’s Gospel from Mark, Jesus sees the vast crowd as sheep without a shepherd. Moved with deep compassion, He teaches them, then miraculously feeds five thousand with five loaves and two fish, providing abundantly. Jesus cares holistically: nourishing souls with truth and bodies with bread. We, as shepherds in His Church, must imitate this love. Welcome parishioners with empathy, feed their spirits through faithful preaching, and attend to their practical needs with generosity. In serving others, Christ’s abundance flows through us.
